HEC
Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer derived from natural cellulose through controlled chemical modification. It appears as a white to light yellowish, odorless, and tasteless powder, readily soluble in both hot and cold water to form viscous gel-like solutions.
Basic Information
1.Non-ionic character:
Does not interact with anions, cations, or salts, ensuring excellent salt tolerance.
2.Reactive functionality:
Capable of undergoing esterification and etherification, allowing further modification to enhance water resistance or other properties.
3.Film-forming & surface activity:
Exhibits good film-forming ability and surface-active behavior.
4. Application
HEC has the characteristics of thickening, suspending, adhesive, emulsion, film forming, water retention and protective colloid, etc. which is widely used in paints, cosmetics, oil drilling and other industries.
